68 BOY SCOUT AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The 68BSARC, an activity of Boy Scout Troop 68, Laconia, NH, is dedicated to the enhancement of the scouting program through Amateur Radio and to the advancement of amateur radio in scouting. 68BSARC is an FCC licensed Amateur Radio Club Station with the call sign KB1RSP.

The club is formed as a non-profit charitable service and educational organization. The club is affiliated with the American Radio Relay League.

The purpose of the club is to provide a way for youth of the scouting community to be involved in amateur radio. The club proposes to do this by providing the means to obtain knowledge and skills to obtain an FCC license grant, which would allow members to communicate with other people interested in amateur radio.

The purpose of the club is fulfilled through participation in national and international events such as the Annual Field Day in June, the Jamboree on the Air in October, and local events such as parades, the Sled Dog Derby, Scout Camporees, and foxhunts.

Membership meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM. An Executive Committee meets on the second Thursday at 7:00 PM. All meetings are held at the Boy Scout Shack at the rear of Holy Trinity School.

Several merit badges can be earned by scouts such as Electronics, Radio, Emergency Preparedness and Weather & Space Exploration.

Club advisors are Michael Fecteau KB1QLU and Louis Laverdure N1MAY.
